HMB placed 4 out of 5 at El Camino Colt Classic
After a dominant win over the Terra Nova Tigers and nearing the end of the regular wrestling season, the HMB Cougars only brought five wrestlers this past weekend to the El Camino Invitiational. Due to injuries and match quotas, most of the team rested over the past weekend to prepare for the League finals next Saturday at Woodside HS.
Starting at the (119) weight class is Chris "Rabbit" Richards with a 6th place finish due to a knee injury after a 2-1 start.
Nate Seaton (135) continues his climb toward the top with a 2nd place finish. The sophomore wrestler had his highest placing of the year in reaching the finals of the tourney in dominant form. "Nate is always ready, he always wrestles tough, always smart. If he loses in finals, it is to a good wrestler, in a tough match. He just gets better and better" according to his coaches.
Brian "Kooch" Martinez (140) had a good performance at the all day event. Losing his first match, "Kooch" came back to win his following three matches for a seventh place finish.
Bryce McGaw (189) lived up to his 2nd seeding place by reaching the finals and losing a hard match to his Aptos opponent. Bryce is looking forward to this weekend's finals to reach the top of the PAL. Bryce place 2nd at the tourney.
Great job guys!
